SNORKELING
Roatan Casa is uniquely situated on a secluded beach that is capped on each end with mangroves. The reef in front of the home has a “C” shape that comes close to the shore on each side of the neighborhood limiting boat traffic and making it safe for snorkeling. Straight out from Roatan Casa is fantastic snorkeling undisturbed by the tourists and boat traffic. The water is crystal clear inside the reef wall that breaks the waves. The water is 5-15 feet deep near the reef wall with a beautiful white sand bottom surrounding hundreds of fish-covered rocks – ideal for snorkeling.
Roatan Casa includes a two-person Ocean Kayak with collapsible anchor to paddle to the reef and a Flatstalker "snorkeling boat" with electric motor. Or, strong swimmers can swim from the end of the dock to the reef.
SCUBA DIVING
The owner of Roatan Casa has been scuba diving in Curacao, Barbados, Jamaica, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Akumel, Puerto Vallarta, Maui, Grand Cayman, Roatan and even Wisconsin. He considers Roatan as good as any of these and better than most. In fact, the way he first discovered Roatan was from the owner of an international scuba diving tour service that said Roatan was his favorite dive spot in the world.
There are about 30 dive guides within minutes of the house. They can bring the gear to the house and dive behind the house or you can drive to their location and take a boat to the dive site. Great dive tours and instruction is just 4 miles away at Blue Bahia Resort with Octopus Dive School. If you zoom in on the Roatan Map, you’ll see hundreds of dive sites in front of Roatan Casa continuing down the island.
